So I climbed a 14er-Mt Bierstadt

So I have been wanting to climb a 14er for awhile because Clint has talked about them and he has done a few.  We have not been able to find a weekend to go and plus its starting to get cold up in the mountains, but this last weekend was an open one.  So Friday he told me we should go climb Mt Bierstadt and that we had to leave at 5 am, so that meant getting up at 4:30 on a Saturday. Ha, of course I was thinking is this really worth it to get up that early to climb a mountain.   I was really excited about going and did not know what to expect and Clint told me that if I couldn't finish he was just gonna leave me behind and get me on the way down. So, I of course that made me want to do it and make him proud of me.

We got to the trail head about 7:15 and there we went. It was sooo cold for a while, but once I started walking I warmed up some.  For awhile it was not to bad and I was keeping up with him pretty good.  The reason we picked this one for my first because many people told me it was an easy one to start with and they were right.  It really was not to bad, the thing that was hard was breathing.  I mean don't get me wrong, it was hard and my legs were tired, but it wasn't something I couldn't do.  As we got closer to the summit it was really cool, you could see all around, I mean we were at 14,000 feet.  The last part was climbing over lots of rocks and at one point I said to him, "I think I have told you before that I am afraid of some heights?" And he was like "Yes, you have, are you OK?"  I really was fine, but I didn't look anywhere but at the rocks.

We finally made it after about 2 and half hours or so. It was a great feeling when I got to the top.  I never thought I would do something like this and I know lots of people do them everyday, but it still is a great achievement.  Something I thought was cool was that you write your name on a list so that they have everyone that has climbed that mountain in a book.  We didn't stay up there to long because it was sooo cold and windy.  Plus with the wind blowing and me afraid of heights I did not like that too much, so I just sat there while Clint walked all around taking pictures.  Going down the mountain was so much quicker and easier. But it was cool to tell all the other people going up, your almost there or you can do it.

Overall it was a lot of fun and I am glad we got to do this together! Maybe next summer we can do more together, but I will try to be in better shape.

Here are some of the pictures.  You can probably tell that I am freezing in them.

Weekend in Oklahoma

Well,  I have not posted anything since my first one, but I was waiting till I went to OK to post something else.

I went to OK on Thursday and drove by myself. It was a long trip, but not to bad and I just sang the whole way.  I went for my best friends personal shower! Chelsea is getting married Oct 9th and I am the Maid of Honor.  I have never been a maid of honor before so it is kind of fun! Friday, I just ran around Edmond and picked up some things I needed to get while being there!  One thing I made sure I did was go to the Big Red Shop to get new OU shirts.  I needed some new ones since we can't get them in Colorado.  I bought 2 new ones and I am excited to wear them. I also bought an OU sticker to go on my car, cant wait to put that on my car!

Saturday was the shower at her cousins house. It was a great shower and she got lots of good little things  to wear.  I got to see some people I had not seen in awhile so that was fun.  And that night we decided to dye my hair and we did it once and had to do it again cause we missed some spots! So, we finished that at about 1:30 am, but we sure had fun! Laughing and joking about random things.

The whole weekend was great! There is never a dull moment when we are together! I laughed and laughed all weekend. The first night I was there we were in her room about to go to bed and she started telling me some stories I have never heard and well that ended up with me laughing so hard I was crying! I love her like a sister and she means the world to me! I can not believe she is getting married in less than a month and I have to think of a speech for the reception.

Today is a special day for my nephew Kolby turning 5 years old and also for my wonderful boyfriend Clint its his 27th birthday!! Happy Birthday boys!!!!

Oh and one last thing, OU is looking pretty good this year!!! BOOMER SOONER!!!!!!!

My first blog, I never thought I would start blogging!

Hello everyone, here goes my first blog.  I think blogs are really cool, I mean I know for me I have looked at peoples and did not even have one till today! It is interesting to see what is going on your friends lives. I think it is way more personal then Facebook or any of the other sites.  It really lets people open up about there families and lives.  Mine probably wont be all that exciting, not a whole lot goes on in my life.

But for a little of what is going on in my life, I am just working for my brother in law Daniel, three days a week. The other two days I am helping my parents at their mission His Hands.  I love working there, it sometimes can be stressful, but at the same time I know that we are blessing so many families in Denver.  I also am coaching basketball again, which will start in a couple weeks. I am the Level 3 coach at Lakewood High School and an assistant with the Varsity team.  It is a lot of fun working with freshman and sophomores, they always keep me on my toes! I am hoping we have better season then last year and I think we will!

That is about all that is happening right now! It is so beautiful this time of year here in Colorado! Except I am not ready for winter.

Hopefully next time I blog something exciting will have happened!
